Healing Is Not a Straight Line
Jayne Banful · 2 September 2026 · 3 min read
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
One of the most freeing things a person can learn is that healing is rarely linear. There are good weeks and heavy days, clarity and confusion, sometimes within the same afternoon.
A difficult day is not evidence that nothing has changed. It is often evidence that something deeper is now able to surface.
Be patient with yourself. Healing is a process of being gently rebuilt, not a performance to be graded.
